Watch: Vikings' Donovan Jackson lays out two Patriots defenders in practice
The Vikings revamped their offensive line this offseason, and they used their first-round draft pick to complete the overhaul.
They signed Ryan Kelly and Will Fries, then drafted Donovan Jackson to give them three new faces on the interior offensive line. Of course, like anytime you have a new group together, there can be growing pains. His NFL debut against the Texans included a PFF grade of 55.9 and just 12 snaps played, so joint practices this week with the Patriots will be critical.
Needless to say, he kicked things off with a bang based on the film that got out on one play.
Jackson showcased this ability to be a mover in college while at Ohio State. Anytime a team can add a college offensive lineman who can be a lead blocker like that, it is an invaluable asset. For the Vikings, and the way they like to run the ball in zone concepts, this is a prime example of why he is just going to get better with time for Minnesota.
